Page Commons is a free reading companion web app maintained by an independent solo founder. By using Page Commons (pagecommons.com), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Page Commons helps you reflect on what you read by chatting with an AI companion, keeping a personal shelf, and saving your own notes and passages. The core of Page Commons is free and intended to stay that way. Features may change, and the app is offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
Companion responses are generated by third-party AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. They are not professional advice. You are responsible for how you use anything the companion produces. The free shared AI pool is provided on a best-effort basis and may be rate-limited or unavailable at times.
If you choose to use your own API key for a provider such as Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Groq, you are responsible for that account, for complying with that provider's terms, and for any usage costs you incur. Your key is stored only in your browser and is sent only to the provider you selected.
Your data is stored on your own device, and optionally in your own Google Drive if you connect sync. You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Page Commons is not liable for any loss of locally stored data — for example, if you clear your browser storage or lose access to a device. Use of Google Drive sync is also subject to Google's own terms.
Page Commons relies on and links to third-party services, including AI providers, the Google Books API, Google Drive, and Ko-fi. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies.
Page Commons is open source. The source code is available at github.com/pagecommons/pagecommons and is provided under the terms of its repository license.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Page Commons is provided without warranties of any kind, and the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
These terms may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
